Sanford, NC – Central Carolina Community College has announced its athletic award recipients for the 2020-2021 school year.
Here is a list of all award winners:
Men’s Basketball – JT Conwell – Sanford, N.C. (Cougar of the Year), Montell Moore – Fayetteville, N.C. (MVP), Camaron Womble – Raleigh, N.C. (Sophomore of the Year), Derek Gardner – Hampstead, N.C. (Freshman of the Year), Josh Bell – Maxton, N.C. (Coach’s Award). Derek Gardner and Montell Moore also received National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region Honorable Mention honors.
Women’s Basketball – Jaliyah Howard – Brunswick, Ga. (MVP), Kaiyan Padilla – Denver, Colo. (Coach’s Award), Tesha Brewer – Wingate, N.C. (Defensive Player of the Year), Kayle Mejia – Sanford, N.C. (Sportsmanship Award).
Golf – Lee Bass – Dunn, N.C. (MVP), Gabriel Osborne – Sanford, N.C. (Coach’s Award), Cole McBurnett – Sanford, N.C. (Best Newcomer).
CCCC volleyball team is NJCAA Division III Region 10 champion
Volleyball – Taylor Rosser – Broadway, N.C. (Player of the Year), Grace McAllister – Raleigh, N.C. (MVP), Pristina Tabon – Sanford, N.C. (Coach’s Award), Jalonni Gadist – Fayetteville, N.C. (Best Defensive Player), Breighanna Hobbs – Coats, N.C. (Best Offensive Player), Lily Bonner – Sanford, N.C. (Freshman of the Year). The CCCC volleyball team won the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 10 Division III championship. Taylor Rosser was the Region 10 Division III Player of the Year. Rosser, along with Lily Bonner and Grace McAllister, were named to the All-Region volleyball first team.
Coach of the Year – Bill Carter (Volleyball), who also was the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 10 Division III Coach of the Year.
