Jarin Stevenson held to nine points as Chatham Central defeats Seaforth, 55-42

Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham Charter Knights basketball squad knocked off the Seaforth Hawks, 55-42 in a non-conference game. This is the second time this season that Seaforth has lost a basketball game to another Chatham County high school. They lost to Chatham Central on January 17, 74-68.

Top scorers for Chatham Charter were Adam Harvey (17 points), Beau Harvey (12 points) and Jonah Ridgill (11 points). For Seaforth the top scorer was Kooper Jones with 16 points.

Chatham Charter led Seaforth at the end of the 1st quarter, 19-13

Chatham Charter was able to contain 6-foot-10 Seaforth forward Jarin Stevenson, who had only nine points in this game. This is his lowest scoring in any game this season. Chatham Central’s success is especially notable since Stevenson usually averages about 21.8 points per game this season.

Chatham Charter have finished the regular season with an undefeated record of 29-0. This is first time in history that the Chatham Charter boys’ basketball team have finished the regular season undefeated

The Knights will play next on Wednesday, February 15, at 7:30 pm in the 2nd round of the conference tournament.

Seaforth finished the regular season with a record of 16-7. The Hawks will play in their conference tournament later this week.
