Arrests made in Chatham County’s NC 902 murder of Michelle Nichole Jenks

Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office has charged two individuals in connection with the murder of Michelle Nichole Jenks, who was discovered unconscious in the 7700 block on NC 902 on January 8.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. on January 8, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report concerning the well-being of a person found on the road in the 7700 block of NC 902, Pittsboro. Deputies and first responders discovered Michelle Nichole Jenks, 33, of 268 Kelly Lane, Siler City. She was transported to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where she was later pronounced dead.

The Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation resulting in charges against Terrie Fields, 39, of 3012 Campbell Rd., Bear Creek, and Corey Rives, 37, of 3012 Campbell Rd., Bear Creek. Fields faces one count of felony second-degree murder and one count of felony possession of a firearm by a felon. She was held without bond.

Rives faces one count of felony accessory after the fact. His bond was set at $41,500.00.

Both individuals are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on January 29.
