Siler City, NC – A Siler City man arrested in March on charges of child pornography is facing more charges after further investigation revealed additional pornographic images.
In March, while investigating a tip that a Siler City man was in possession of child pornography, Chatham County Sheriff’s Office investigators conducted a search warrant of Andrew Phillip Gerbing’s residence, uncovering numerous pornographic images and videos of minors.
Authorities charged Gerbing, 38, of 178 Bailey Way, Siler City with one count of felony third degree sex exploitation of a minor, one count of felony soliciting child by computer, one count of felony disseminating obscenity, and one count of misdemeanor disseminating material harmful to a minor.
On May 14, after further investigation of electronics seized during the search warrant, investigators charged Gerbing with 100 additional counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Gerbing was issued a $500,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on June 10
