Pittsboro, NC – Eight of Chatham County high school basketball teams played their first round basketball playoff games at home Monday evening. Tonight’s winners will go on to play the second round on Thursday.

1st Round 3A State basketball playoff results
Northwood High School, Pittsboro, NC
#5 Northwood girls (23-4) defeated #28 Lee County girls (14-10), 59-30.
Northwood will host #12 Western Alamance (20-8) on Thursday at 6 pm.
Western Alamance defeated #21 Hunt (11-14), 86-47.
#1 Northwood boys (23-2) vs #32 West Johnston (14-10)
Northwood will host #16 Westover (21-8) on Thursday at 7:30 pm
Westover (21-8) defeated #17 Person (21-6), 86-63.

#5 Seaforth girls (23-3) defeated #28 Nash Central girls (9-14), 60-28
Seaforth will host #12 Eastern Wayne (19-7) on Thursday at 6 pm.

Seaforth will travel to play #8 East Carteret (19-6) on Thursday at 7:30 pm.

#9 Chatham Central girls (16-9) defeated #24 Washington County girls (10-13), 51-31.
