After the win head Lady Chargers basketball coach Cameron Vernon noted: “Well it’s nice to see the girls back competing in games. Not seeing each other for such a long time during the pandemic you really don’t know what to expect. But fortunately our girls have obviously worked very hard on their game.
I really saw the improvement out of McKenna Snively and Caroline Allen. Skylar Adams is just as good as advertised from the middle school coaches. Myla Marve had a very nice return after season ending ACL injury last year. We were also shorthanded with five varsity girls at their final volleyball game tonight and we had some junior varsity girls come up and give quality minutes in Hannah Ajayi and Jenna Thompson.
I thought the key to the game was the experience that McKenna and Myla bring. Both have been significant players since their freshman year and it showed in leading these younger girls this evening.
Cedar Ridge is still a very young team, but fought extremely hard throughout the game no matter the score. I anticipate a much closer game the next time we play”
