Chatham Community Library celebrates Women’s History Month with local changemakers

Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham Community Library will commemorate National Women’s History Month with a virtual round-table discussion entitled: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: A Woman’s Perspective of Chatham County. This Zoom event will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.. This event is free and open to the public.

The round-table, featuring women in leadership roles in Chatham County, will examine how past and present issues affecting women in Chatham County relate to and shape the county’s future. The panel will address questions posed by the moderator as well as by the audience.

Panel members include: Chatham County Commissioners Karen Howard and Diana Hales, Ilana Dubester, Executive Director of El Vinculo Hispano, and Cindy Perry, former Mayor of Pittsboro. The moderator for the afternoon is Vaughn Mamlin Upshaw, DrPH, EdD – UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Dr. Upshaw is also Director, MPH Concentration: Leadership in Practice, and the Principal Investigator for the NC Public Health Leadership Institute.

Women’s History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society.
