Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Board of Education on June 7, 2021, approved Donna Barger as the principal of Jordan-Matthews High School, in Siler City, N.C., effective July 1, 2021.
In January, Barger began serving as the interim principal at Jordan-Matthews, where she’d been an assistant principal for 5 ½ years. Barger has been an educator for 24 years.
“Exceptional education requires passionate, dedicated and committed staff who value each individual student and teach the whole person, not just the curriculum,” Barger said. “We have that at Jordan-Matthews, and I’m excited to be part of the Jordan-Matthews school community with great expectation for the potential that lays ahead in all areas of the school.”
Before becoming a school administrator, Barger, who earned certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, taught both middle school and high school English.
