The Lady Chargers then progressed to the NCSHAA championship, where they finished the bracket with 24 victories and one defeat, leading to a #2 seed in the playoffs.
Continuing through the playoffs, the Lady Chargers took to the court on March 12, 2022, and bested their opponent, leading to their State Championship win. After the season, the Lady Chargers boasted a season record of 30 wins and one (1) loss and claimed the honor of winning the first State Championship for any sport at Northwood High School.
If this was not enough to be proud of, Lady Charger Team Captain Olivia Porter was recognized as the 2022 NCHSAA 3-A Kay Yow State Championship Most Valuable Player (MVP), and Lady Charger Te’Keyah Bland was recognized as the 2022 NCHSAA 3-A Women’s Basketball Most Outstanding Player.
