Pittsboro Town Hall closed on June 1 due to Internet outage; other offices remain open

Pittsboro, NC – The Pittsboro Town Hall (635 East Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312) will be closed to the public all day today, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, due to an internet outage affecting the location. Employees at Town Hall have no access to phone, voicemail, or email.

The Public Works and Public Utilities facilities and the Town offices at Chatham Mills are still open, but they cannot accept payment for utilities or handle other business usually managed at Town Hall.

Residents and customers who typically pay their utility bills online can continue to use this system, as this outage does not impact it. Further, residents and customers who usually pay their bills in person can still use the dropbox on the side of the building if paying with a check. There is no employee at the window to take your payment or look up information. The Town cannot accept cash through the dropbox.

The Town is hopeful that the system can be repaired today, allowing Town Hall to reopen for general business tomorrow, Thursday, June 2, 2022. If Town Hall will have to remain closed past today, or if the office will reopen with customer-facing impacts, further information will be released by 8 PM tonight.
