Goldston man charged with illegal possession of firearms

Goldston, NC – On July 5, 2022, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault which allegedly occurred at 270 Dusty Road in Goldston. Danny Lynn Brewer, 56, of that address was accused of firing shots at two subjects outside the home. Brewer, a convicted felon, is banned from possessing firearms.

During the course of the assault investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Brewer’s residence and deputies entered the home on July 6, 2022. The search resulted in the seizure of six firearms, illegally-possessed fentanyl patches, and drug paraphernalia. Brewer was subsequently charged with six counts of felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and jailed under a $25,000 secured bond.

Brewer is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 13, 2022. The investigation into the assault allegations remains ongoing.
