Carolina Hurricanes announce first round schedule for 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs

Raleigh, NC – The National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes today announced the team’s schedule for the First Round of the 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs. Carolina will face the New York Islanders in the First Round, marking the second meeting between the two teams in the postseason. The Hurricanes and Islanders previously met in the 2019 Eastern Conference Second Round, as Carolina posted a four-game sweep. The Hurricanes’ 2023 postseason is presented by Invisalign.

The Hurricanes will play Game 1 of the First Round on home ice at PNC Arena on Monday, April 17, at 7 p.m. They will wear their red 25th anniversary jerseys for all home playoff games after posting a
10-2-0 record in those sweaters during the regular season. Carolina owns a 36-21 all-time postseason record at PNC Arena and has won nine of its last 11 playoff series starting on home ice dating back to 2002. The Hurricanes earned a 52-21-9 record during the regular season to clinch their second consecutive Metropolitan Division title and third straight division title, as they also won the Central Division in 2021. Carolina is making its fifth consecutive playoff appearance for the first time in the franchise’s North Carolina history.
