Siler City man arrested in Burlington Family Dollar armed robbery

Burlington, NC – On April 10, 2023, at 12:15 pm, Burlington officers responded to the Family Dollar located at 908 East Webb Avenue regarding a robbery. Officers determined an unknown suspect had entered the business and stolen an undisclosed amount of US currency from the cash register. There were no injuries reported during the robbery.

Through the investigation, officers were able to develop probable cause to charge David Black Jr., a 29-year-old male from Siler City, NC, with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. 

On April 14, 2023, officers took Black into custody without incident with the assistance of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. Black is currently confined in jail under a $50,000 secure bond.
