Goldston, NC – Two people have been charged by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on November 20, 2023, near Goldston.
The victim arranged to meet Anhelica Maria Mata, 24, of 1448 Goldston Carbonton Rd., but during their meeting the victim was assaulted by a man later identified as Shannon Terrell Brown, 38, of 1448 Goldston Carbonton Rd.
Following an investigation, the Sheriff’s Office charged Brown with one count of felony conspiracy, one count of felony possession of firearm by a felon, one count of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, one count of felony burning personal property, and one count of misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun. No bond was issued, and Brown is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on January 29, 2024.
Mata was charged with one count of felony conspiracy, and one count of felony aiding and abetting armed robbery. She was issued a $40,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on January 29, 2024.
