Pittsboro, NC – Chatham County is recruiting current Chatham residents to serve on the Chatham County Board of Health — the 11-member policymaking, rulemaking, and deliberative body for the Chatham County Public Health Department — and fill four upcoming vacancies for the following positions:
Physician
Optometrist
Nurse
Public Member
Note: A current license to practice in North Carolina is required to apply for the professional seats.

Board of Health meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month in Pittsboro, beginning at 6 p.m., with dinner and reimbursement for mileage provided. Meetings are not held in July and December.
The Board of Health will review applications and make a recommendation to the Board of Commissioners, who will appoint the selected candidates to serve a three-year term. The appointed members will be eligible to serve up to two additional three-year terms once the first term expires.
