Siler City, NC – After the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Carlos Archila-Escalante, 21, of 127 Fontana Circle, Siler City, had sexually assaulted a juvenile female, authorities launched an investigation.
On June 10, 2024, Chatham County Sheriff’s Office investigators executed a search warrant at Archila-Escalante’s residence and charged the suspect with one count of felony second degree forcible rape, one count of felony statutory rape of a child, one count of felony statutory sex offense with a child, one count of felony indecent liberties with a child, one count of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, one count of misdemeanor sexual battery, one count of felony possession of a firearm by a felon, one count of felony crime against nature, one count of felony second degree forcible sex offense, and one count of felony second degree kidnapping.
Archila-Escalante was issued a $40,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on July 23, 2024.
