Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing Pittsboro woman.
Alice McIlvaine Parsons, 83, was last in contact with someone by phone at approximately 6:30 p.m. on October 17, 2024. Concerned family members requested a well-being check on October 18, 2024, after being unable to reach her.
When deputies arrived at Parsons’ residence at 658 Graycliff Road, they found that her gray 2009 Ford Escape (license plate: XRC2042) was missing from the property. However, Parsons’ cell phone was discovered inside the home, left on the kitchen counter. Despite canvassing the neighborhood and checking with her known friends and frequented locations, no leads have emerged.
Parsons is described as 5’2″ tall, with a frail build. A family member estimated she weighs approximately 75 pounds, and she may be suffering from anorexia. Friends noted that she has experienced some episodes of confusion in the past and has recently been dealing with an eye infection. However, no significant cognitive conditions are known.
Deputies have been patrolling the Fearrington Village area, but Parsons and her vehicle remain missing.
