Shape the future of Pittsboro: Join the Board of Adjustments Advisory Board

Pittsboro, NC – The Town of Pittsboro seeks an engaged and civic-minded resident to fill one (1) Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) position on the Board of Adjustments Advisory Board (BOA). Positions are filled by appointment of the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Pittsboro. Members are appointed to Advisory Boards and Commissions based on the appointees’ interest in public affairs, good judgment, knowledge, ability, and good moral character. The selected appointee will serve a three (3) year term beginning immediately following their appointment.  The Board of Adjustments Advisory Board meets on an as-needed basis, conducts hearings, and takes final action on Special Use Permits, Variances, and Appeals. The Board of Adjustment is quasi-judicial in nature and must adhere to North Carolina General Statutes when making final decisions.
