Terminix of Pittsboro partners with Chatham Sheriff’s ARC for animal welfare

Pittsboro, NC – On Tuesday morning, December 17, a crew from Terminix of Pittsboro volunteered their time and expertise to assist the Chatham Sheriff’s Animal Resource Center in relocating and enhancing the security of its livestock area.

Chatham Sheriff’s Animal Resource Center staff join the Terminix of Pittsboro crew for a group photo after a successful day of volunteering to enhance the livestock area’s security.

Starting early, the Terminix team got to work moving the livestock fencing to a new location behind the employee parking lot. The updated area now features double fencing for added safety, ensuring that animals remain secure and cannot escape. Security cameras also enhance the safety and monitoring of the space.

The project, part of Terminix’s Corporate Volunteer program, was a long-awaited improvement that the Animal Resource Center had envisioned but previously lacked the manpower to accomplish.

“We’re extremely grateful for the kindness and hard work of the Terminix team,” said Kate Reardon, a shelter attendant at the ARC who collaborated closely with the volunteers. “This is a project we’ve wanted to tackle for a while, and thanks to their generosity, it’s now a reality.”

Renee Everwine, a representative from Terminix, shared the crew’s enthusiasm for helping out.

“We’re all animal people, so when it came time to choose a project, our team unanimously voted to assist the ARC,” Everwine said. “Everyone’s had a great time working together and contributing to such a worthwhile cause.”

Terminix of Pittsboro has a strong history of giving back to the community through its Corporate Volunteer program. Past recipients of their generosity include the Carnivore Preservation Trust and Chatham County Habitat for Humanity.

The Chatham Sheriff’s Animal Resource Center expresses its heartfelt thanks to Terminix of Pittsboro for their support and dedication to animal welfare.
