Beatrice Allen wins 2024-2025 Chatham County Schools Spelling Bee

Pittsboro, NC – Chatham County Schools (CCS) proudly announces that Beatrice Allen, a fifth-grade student from Perry W. Harrison Elementary School, has won the 2024-2025 CCS Spelling Bee. The district-level competition took place on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Seaforth High School, where 28 talented students from 14 schools showcased their spelling skills in a spirited contest.

With poise and precision, Beatrice Allen outlasted a highly competitive field, earning the title of Chatham County Schools Spelling Bee Champion. She will now advance to represent CCS at the Carolina Panthers Regional Spelling Bee, which will be held at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.

“We are incredibly proud of all of our participants, who demonstrated remarkable dedication and hard work in preparing for this event,” said Michael Triplett, CCS Spelling Bee Coordinator. “Congratulations to Beatrice Allen for her outstanding achievement—we look forward to cheering her on at the regional competition.”

CCS Superintendent Dr. Anthony Jackson also commended the students for their hard work and perseverance. “Academic competitions like the Spelling Bee provide a platform for our students to develop confidence, critical thinking, and a love for learning,” Dr. Jackson said. “We are immensely proud of Beatrice Allen and all of our participants. Their dedication and enthusiasm are a testament to the excellence we strive for in Chatham County Schools.”
