Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Board of Education will meet in a specially called meeting Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 6 p.m. to announce and elect the new superintendent of Chatham County Schools. The meeting will be held in the multipurpose room at George Moses Horton Middle School, 79 Horton Road.
The board will meet in closed session at 6 p.m. to discuss confidential personnel matters and to consult with the board attorney. The board will meet in open session around 6:30 p.m. to announce and vote on the election of the school system’s new superintendent.
The board invites all Chatham County Schools employees and community members to virtually attend the session in order to meet and welcome the new superintendent. The meeting’s open session will be accessible to the public through the livestream available online. There will be limited seating in the multipurpose room, where health and safety requirements will be followed, including face coverings, physical distancing and symptom screenings upon entry.
