Pittsboro, NC – The Board of Commissioners for the Town of Pittsboro will hold a meeting at 7 pm on Monday, June 27, 2022.
This regular meeting will be held in a hybrid format with the Board of Commissioners, Town staff, and media at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center (1192 US-64 Business, Pittsboro, NC 27312) with the public participating remotely via Zoom. The meeting will also be streamed to the Town’s YouTube page, though no remote participation is available through the YouTube Platform. Please note that the livestream does not show presentations on the screen for residents watching from home but instead shows the meeting chambers so that commissioners are seen and heard throughout the entire meeting.

The Board of Commissioners uses a Consent Agenda to act on non-controversial and routine items quickly. The Consent Agenda is acted upon by one motion and vote of the Board. 1. Approval of Town Sponsorships for PBA Summer Fest 2022
▪ Description: The Pittsboro Business Association is hosting Summer Fest in downtown once again on July 3, 2022. Town staff and Town resources are used in the administration of the event and therefore Town staff are requesting whether the Board of Commissioners are interested in sponsoring the 2022 PBA Summer Fest for the Town related expenses needed for the event.
▪ Action Recommended: Vote to Sponsor PBA Summer Fest 2022.
2. Termination and Release of Services Agreement with Main Street Pittsboro for the Town’s Administration of the Main Street Program
▪ Description: Main Street Pittsboro, a 501(c)(3) entity, has been contracted with since Fiscal Year 2018-19 to run the Town of Pittsboro’s Main Street affiliate program. With the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2022-23 budget, the Town will be returning the administration of the Town’s Main Street Program to a Town staff led operation. As part of this shift, Main Street Pittsboro has proposed a Termination and Release of Services Agreement to memorialize the separation and ending of the contract between the two parties.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. Special Use Permit – SUP-2022-01 – New Cemetery, Iglesia Bautista Misionera Roca Fuerte Inc.
▪ Description: The applicant and landowner, Iglesia Bautista Misionera Roca Fuerte Inc., is requesting a Special Use Permit to add a cemetery as a permissible use on their existing property. The subject property is approximately 11.61 acres (Parcel ID 68571) located at 1365 NC Highway 902.

2. Code of Ordinances Amendment – COA-2022-01 – Pittsboro Minimum Housing Code
▪ Description: Town staff are requesting an amendment to Chapter 150 of the Town of Pittsboro Code of Ordinances to revise the Town’s minimum housing code. Code of Ordinance amendments need not require a public hearing for adoption; however, the Board has requested a public hearing to solicit feedback from the public.
