Pittsboro, NC – In August 2022, members of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office responded to Beaver Creek Road, New Hill, regarding a reported breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. The victim reported multiple personal items stolen from the vehicle, some of which were equipped with GPS tracking capabilities.
Investigators used this information to track the stolen items to multiple locations in Durham as well as identify Chaz Corea Myers, 29, of 1227 Landon Street, Durham, as the primary suspect in the case. Additional evidence confirmed that Myers was in the area of the break in at the time it occurred.
Myers is charged with felony breaking and entering into a motor vehicle as well as felony larceny. He was arrested in Durham by the Durham County Sheriff’s Office and jailed under a $5,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on January 30, 2023.
