Pop into Poetry: An open mic night on April 20

Pittsboro, NC – In recognition of National Poetry Month in April, Chatham Community Library will host “Poetry Off the Page” (POP) facilitated by author and instructor Robin Hall. This program is free and open to the public.

WHAT:  Poetry Off the Page (POP)

WHEN: Thursday, April 20, 2023, 6:30 – 8 p.m.

WHERE: Chatham Community Library, Holmes Family Meeting Room, 197 NC Hwy 87 N., Pittsboro, NC 27312

WHO: Poetry off the Page (POP) is an open mic event celebrating and sharing the words that move people. Poetry enthusiasts are invited to share their own work or any piece that moves them. Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:30 p.m. for poetry creation stations including blackout poetry, post-it note poetry, a haiku poster, and art-inspired poems. The open mic will begin at 7 pm, and each reader will have 5-8 minutes to perform.

Robin Hall holds a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her debut picture book, The Littlest Weaver, will release Fall 2023 from Familius, an imprint of Hachette Publishing. She teaches creative writing and yoga to all ages.

Individuals may sign up in advance HEREor they can sign up in person on the day of the program. This program is best suited for ages 16+.
