Dr. Randy St.Clair, Zack Chutz named new Seaforth high school principal, assistant principal

Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Board of Education has approved Dr. Randy St.Clair as the new principal of Seaforth High School.

St.Clair started his career as a middle school English Language Arts teacher in Guilford County at Hairston Middle School. In addition to working at Hairston Middle School, he has served as an assistant principal in Pitt County Public Schools and has had two previous high school principal assignments at West Craven High School (Craven County) and Fike High School (Wilson County). Most recently, he was principal at Wilson Early College Academy in Wilson, NC.

He earned his bachelor of arts degree in print journalism from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2002, and his Master of School Administration from East Carolina University in 2011. St.Clair received his K-12 Principal Licensure in Educational Administration from East Carolina University in 2014, and he earned his Doctor of Educational Leadership in May 2022 from East Carolina University.

Chatham County Schools Superintendent Dr. Anthony Jackson said St.Clair will be a strong asset for both Seaforth and Chatham County Schools.

Dr. St.Clair has demonstrated outstanding leadership over the course of his career as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal,” Jackson said. “With those achievements, he will be an excellent fit at Seaforth. We are delighted to have his experience and leadership in Chatham County Schools.

The Board of Education also approved Zack Chutz to become one of the new assistant principals at Seaforth. He was an assistant principal at Northwood High School from 2017-2020, and most recently served as assistant principal at Pittsboro Elementary School.

Seaforth has been cultivating a great environment for students and staff since their opening in 2021,” Chutz said. “I am excited to join the team and contribute to that success. Go Hawks!

Dr. Jackson believes Chutz will bring his trademark energy and passion to Seaforth High.
