Rhymes and Reason: A poetry stroll through downtown Pittsboro

Pittsboro, NC – In honor of National Poetry Month in April, Chatham Community Library will coordinate its first annual poetry stroll in downtown Pittsboro. This program is free and open to the public.

WHAT: Downtown Pittsboro businesses will display poetry by community members during poetry stroll. Submissions are open to all ages and voices.

WHEN: Submission deadline is Tuesday, March 26, 2024

WHERE: Participating businesses on Hillsboro Street and surrounding areas in downtown Pittsboro will display the poetry throughout April. Some work may also be displayed inside Chatham Community Library depending on the number of entries received.

GUIDELINES:     

Poems must fit on a single page.

Poems must be appropriate for all ages (no curse words, explicit sex, or violence).

Poems must be the original work of the submitter.

Poems must be submitted by Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

Limit of one poem per person.

If submitting a poem written in a language other than English, please provide a translation.

Submissions will not be returned to the owner. Do not submit an original copy.

Authors retain all rights and copyright.

Chatham Community Library retains the right not to display every entry dependent on content and available space.

Individuals may submit their poem by visiting tinyurl.com/poetrystroll, or by turning in a hard copy at the front desk at Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro.
