Wake Up Wednesday celebrates 16 years of connection, community, and commerce

Pittsboro, NC – Wake Up Wednesday, a cornerstone of networking and camaraderie in the local business community, commemorated its 16th year of gatherings, marking a milestone in fostering connections, supporting entrepreneurship, and honoring the memory of those who have contributed to its legacy. Founded on principles of collaboration and support, this meeting which is held on the third Wednesday of every month, has evolved into a vital hub for professionals seeking to expand their networks and grow their businesses.

Remembering members

Before delving into the meeting, attendees pause to remember two cherished members, Earl Hadden and Frieda Lin, who recently passed away. Earl, renowned for his wisdom and generosity provided invaluable lessons on income-producing activities. Frieda, a familiar face at Wake Up Wednesday meetings, brought warmth and positivity to every interaction.

In honor of Earl and Freda, the Wake Up Wednesday community extended its heartfelt condolences to their families and invited all to join in commemorating their lives. A memorial service for Earl Hadden will be held on April 25 at Holy Infant Church in Durham, a testament to the impact he had on lives of many of the attendees.

Jeff Phillips, the coordinating force behind Wake Up Wednesday, expressed gratitude to long-standing members who have been instrumental in shaping its success. At this meeting special recognition was extended to Heather Johnson for her contribution of the anniversary sign and to Melinda Harrison for adding a sweet touch to the celebration with cinnamon rolls.

As the meeting unfolded, attendees shared their experiences and reflections on the impact of Wake Up Wednesday on their professional journeys. Mary, a dedicated member since the inception of Wake Up Wednesday, spoke to the enduring appeal of the community.

“It’s just the best group of people I have met and so many people here that I’ve done business with over the years.” Mary remarked.

Judy, another long-standing member who keeps “coming back because of the people”, echoed Mary’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of cultivating genuine connections in an increasingly digital world.
