ACC football game times & TV networks announced for week 7

Charlotte, NC – The Atlantic Coast Conference and its television partners announced the following football game times and networks for Week 7, October 12. Locally there are three ACC football games on that Saturday. Clemson will play at Wake Forest, while Georgia Tech plays North Carolina at noon time. In the evening, Syracuse will face NC State at 8 pm. Duke has a bye week.

ACC Football Notes
Through Week 5 of the 2024 season:

Week 0 – Florida State versus Georgia Tech saw 5.0 million viewers and was the most-watched Week 0 game on any network since 2019.

College GameDay from Ireland was the most-watched Week 0 episode ever – 41 percent over the previous most-watched Week 0 show (2022) and averaged 1.6 million viewers, including 2.0 million in the final hour.

Week 1 – ACC was part of a historical day on Saturday, August 31, as it was ABC’s second-most-watched Kickoff Saturday on record.

7.9 million viewers – The Clemson versus Georgia Aflac Kickoff Game in Atlanta was the most-watched Week 1 Noon Game on record, peaking at 9.5 million viewers.

6.6 million viewers – The in-state rivalry contest between Miami and Florida in Gainesville, Florida, was the most-watched Week 1 Late Afternoon Game since 2017.

The ACC is 40-13 overall in non-conference play.

The ACC has eight non-conference wins versus fellow Power 4 foes.

The ACC was the only conference to have played conference games in each of the first three weeks (Week 0, Week 1 and Week 2) of the season to start the year.

The ACC had 73 league games decided by eight points or less over the last three years (2021-23).

This year seven of the 12 ACC league games to date have been decided by less than eight points.

 
This Week in Week 6

ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will broadcast live for the first time from Berkeley, California, as the California Golden Bears (3-1, 0-1 ACC) will host the No. 8 nationally ranked Miami Hurricanes (5-0, 1-0 ACC) in Cal’s first-ever home ACC contest on Saturday, October 5, at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Three teams are ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll this week – Miami (No. 8), Clemson (No. 15) and Louisville (No. 22).

Three other teams received votes in the AP poll – Pitt (42), Boston College (18) and SMU (4).

Three teams are ranked in the Coaches Poll this week – Miami (No. 8), Clemson (No. 14) and Louisville (No. 22).

Four other ACC teams received votes in the coaches poll – Pitt (51), Duke (22), SMU (14) and Boston College (6).

Week 6 includes just one non-conference game, as Syracuse takes on No. 25 UNLV on Friday, October 4, at 9 p.m. ET in Las Vegas, Nevada, on FS1.

The ACC Week 6 will see eight conference matchups as all 17 teams are in action.

As part of the Week 6 conference slate, both Cal and Stanford will be hosting their first-ever home ACC contests since joining the league as full-time members this summer.

 
The ACC is the Conference of Quarterbacks once again this season:

The ACC is the only conference with multiple quarterbacks ranked in the top five nationally in total yards per game, passing yards per game, passing touchdowns and total QBR.

Seven QBs are ranked in the top 30 of FBS in total yards per game – the most of any conference.

Cam Ward (Miami) leads the nation at 385.6 total yards of offense per game.

Six QBs have thrown 10 touchdown passes or more this season – tied for the most of any conference.

Cam Ward (Miami) leads the nation with 18 passing touchdowns.

Five QBs are ranked in the top 25 of FBS in passing yards per game – tied for the most of any conference.

Kyle McCord (Syracuse) leads the nation with 364.8 passing yards per game.

Six QBs are ranked in the top 25 of FBS in passing efficiency – tied for the second-most of any conference.

Four QBs are ranked in the top 25 of FBS in total passing yards – tied for the second-most of any conference.

Four QBs are ranked in the top 25 of ESPN’s Total QBR – tied for the second-most of any conference.

Twelve different ACC quarterbacks have thrown for at least 300 yards in a game this year.

Three QBs have done it in multiple games this season – Cam Ward (Miami) five times, Kyle McCord (Syracuse) four times and Eli Holstein (Pitt) three times.

Ward is the first Miami quarterback to begin a season with five consecutive 300-yard passing games.

McCord is the first player in Syracuse history to throw for 300 or more yards in four straight contests. Just four games into his Syracuse career, McCord is already just the sixth Orange quarterback to record three or more 300-yard passing performances in a career.

Holstein became the first freshman (redshirt or true) in Pitt history to throw for 300-plus yards in three consecutive games, his first three games of the season.

Three quarterbacks – Jacolby Criswell (North Carolina), Cam Ward (Miami) and Hank Bachmeier (Wake Forest) – have recorded a game of over 400 passing yards this season.

Jacolby Criswell’s 475 passing yards in Week 4 versus James Madison are the most by a quarterback in a single game this season.

Miami quarterback Cam Ward has thrown for over 15,000 yards passing in his career, making him the 13th player recognized by the NCAA to have reached that milestone.

Cam Ward is one of only three FBS quarterbacks over the last 25 years to start a season 5-0 while passing for 300-plus yards and three or more touchdowns in all five wins.

Cam Ward leads the nation in all of FBS in points responsible for this year with 122.

ACC had the most of any conferences on the following QB preseason watch lists: Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (13); Maxwell Award preseason watch list (10); and Davey O’Brien Award (8).

The ACC has the top-ranked group of quarterback transfers in 2024 by CBS Sports.

13 QBs in the league enter the 2024 season with over 20 career touchdown passes and 3,500 career passing yards.

Since 2018, the ACC has had at least one quarterback drafted in the first round in five different drafts — the only conference to do that.

The ACC has the FBS leader in interceptions – Nohl Williams (Cal) is tied with four interceptions on the season.

The ACC has the FBS leader in sacks and sacks per game – Donovan Ezeiruaku (Boston College) leads the nation with 8.0 sacks and an average of 1.60 sacks per game.

Four of the top 10 NCAA leaders in total sacks this season in all of FBS are in the ACC.

Ezeiruaku (Boston College) – 8.0; Antwaun Powell-Ryland (Virginia Tech) – 7.0; Jahvaree Ritzi (North Carolina) – 5.0; and Tyler Baron (Miami) – 4.5.

The ACC has the FBS leader in punt average – Alex Mastromanno (Florida State) leads the nation with a punt average of 49.8 yards per kick.

Four of the top 15 punters in all of FBS in yards per punt average are in the ACC.

Alex Mastromanno (Florida State) – 49.8; Daniel Sparks (Virginia) – 47.4; Caden Noonkester (NC State) – 46.5; and Kade Reynoldson (Duke) – 45.8.

The ACC has four of the top 10 ranked players in all of FBS in total tackles-for-loss this season.

Donovan Ezeiruaku (Boston College) – 9.5; Alex Howard (Duke) – 8.5; Antwaun Powell-Ryland (Virginia Tech) – 7.5; and Tyler Baron (Miami) – 7.5.

The ACC has four of the top 25 ranked players in tackles per game this season in all of FBS.

Nick Anderson (Wake Forest) is fifth nationally at 12.3 tackles per game.

The ACC has four of the top 20 ranked players in rushing yards this season in all of FBS.

The ACC has four of the top 25 ranked players in rushing yards per game this season in all of FBS.

Omarion Hampton (North Carolina) ranks in the top five in all of FBS in both rushing yards (third, 658) and rushing yards per game (fifth, 131.6).

Three of the top 20 leaders in rushing touchdowns in all of FBS this season are in the ACC.

Bhayshul Tuten (Virginia Tech) – 8; Brashard Smith (SMU) – 7; and Omarion Hampton (North Carolina) – 6.

The ACC has three players that rank in the top 10 in all of FBS in all-purpose yards per game – the most of any conference.
