CodeRed

The CodeRED Mobile Alert app is a free public safety app for both Android and iPhone users.  It sends geographically-based messages to subscribers based on their current location (i.e. Chatham County, NC).  Register once and the app will send any alerts pertinent to the general geographic location the phone is currently in (the CodeRED app must be running in the background to ensure alerts).  The CodeRED app may be found in the Google Play and Apple stores.  Download and registration links are found on the AlertChatham page (see below).

This is a service through the county, and uses the CodeRED app.

Safe Chatham

SAFE Chatham is an access and functional needs registry (formerly called special needs) maintained by Chatham County, North Carolina for residents to indicate to emergency officials that they may need special assistance during disasters. Special assistance may be required for mobility problems, vision and hearing impairment, lack of transportation, critical health issues and other needs which cause unique challenges during an emergency.  Originally called S.A.F.E. (Strategic Action for Emergencies), the program was started in 2016 through a joint effort by Chatham County Council on Aging, Emergency Management, and Department of Social Services to provide residents a secure means to report information.

Take care of yourself, your family, and your neighborhood.
