WHO: Summer Reading activities and events are open to children and teens ages 2-18. These activities are sponsored by Chatham County Public Libraries’ Friends of the Libraries groups.
The Chatham County Public Libraries’ Summer Reading Program encourages kids and teens to read all summer long. Readers participate by picking up a reading and activity log. All participants who read for at least 10 hours and/or complete 10 activities will receive a free book and be entered into a Grand Prize drawing.
Special events will be presented at Chatham County library branches throughout the summer, including a kickoff program at Chatham Community Library on June 6, at 10:30 a.m., with Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources and outdoor activities. Other presenters include Big Bang Boom, Bright Star Children’s Theatre, Science Heroes, Piedmont Wildlife Center, and more.
