Chatham County authorities ask for help in missing person case

Pittsboro, NC – On March 15, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing person. Kenneth Wayne Anders, 65, of NC Hwy. 42, Goldston, was reported missing by his father, who told authorities his son had not been seen since March 8. Before his disappearance, Anders was most recently seen in the areas of Carthage and Carbonton.

Anders – who is described as a white male, 5’8”, weighing 200 pounds, with multiple tattoos on both arms – was last seen wearing camouflage clothing.

R.V. Anders told investigators that he learned on March 11 that his son’s vehicle was left at another residence before being towed to a garage. He retrieved the vehicle but did not report his son missing at the time. The vehicle contained some of Kenneth Wayne Anders’s personal items.
