Raleigh, NC – The National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes have announced the team’s schedule for the 2023 Eastern Conference Final. They will face the Florida Panthers.
Carolina and Florida will meet in the playoffs for the first time, as the Panthers become the 15th different franchise to face the Whalers/Hurricanes in the postseason. The two teams previously spent 14 seasons as Southeast Division rivals from 1998-13 and met eight times in 2020-21 as Central Division foes. Carolina has posted a 65-38-9-10 record against Florida since relocation, including a 2-1-0 record this season, and the Hurricanes clinched the Metropolitan Division title with a 6-4 win over the Panthers in their regular-season finale on April 13.
Carolina will play Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final on home ice at PNC Arena on Thursday, May 18, at 8 p.m. Carolina owns a 41-22 all-time postseason record at PNC Arena, including three wins over New Jersey in the Second Round, and the team has won 11 of its last 13 playoff series starting on home ice dating back to 2002 (excluding games played at Scotiabank Arena in 2020).
