Pittsboro, NC – Pittsboro Print Plus, formerly known as Chatham Business Services, has been a fixture in the Chatham County community since 2012. The company, owned by Heather Johnson, has undergone transformations and relocations over the years. With a history that spans over eleven years, Heather has provided a variety of services that range from traditional printing to unique and eye-catching yard cards.
August 2023, marks a significant month in Pittsboro Print Plus’ history, as they settle into their new home at the Marlowe Building, formerly known as the Mathiesen Clinic. Heather’s journey from being Greg and Paula Stafford’s tenant at a previous location to becoming the anchor tenant at the Marlowe Building showcases the enduring support and partnership she has with her landlords.
A Homecoming at the Marlowe Building
The recent move to the Marlowe Building represents a homecoming of sorts.
“We were moved around a little bit for a couple of years until we could get back here, and I’m so extremely grateful to Paula and Greg that I’m able to be back here,” Heather explains.
This move to the Marlowe Building solidifies Pittsboro Print Plus as the anchor tenant, a position that signifies the close relationship Heather has with her landlords, the Staffords. The flexibility and support they’ve provided have been invaluable in the growth of her business.
From Chatham Business Services to Pittsboro Print Plus
Pittsboro Print Plus has a rich history, initially starting as Chatham Business Services in 2012. At its inception, it offered a wide array of services, including renting conference rooms, shipping, selling office supplies, and providing bookkeeping services. However, over time, the company recognized its true strength lay in the field of printing.
As Heather puts it, “The main thing that we were the best at is print, and so that’s really the main purpose of what we do.” This realization prompted the rebranding to Pittsboro Print Plus, focusing on providing top-notch printing services to the community.
More than Just Printing: Yard Cards and Notary Services
Pittsboro Print Plus goes beyond traditional printing services. One notable addition to their offerings is yard cards, provided through their subsidiary, Chatham Yard Cards. This service involves creating eye-catching yard greetings for various occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and retirements.
Heather describes this service as akin to delivering flowers, though it comes with its share of physical challenges. Nevertheless, it has been a hit in the community, with residents and businesses alike enjoying these vibrant displays in their yards.
Apart from printing and yard cards, Pittsboro Print Plus offers notary services. Heather, a notary for over a decade, also provides remote notary services, simplifying the process for her clients.
A Diverse Range of Print Services
Pittsboro Print Plus caters to a diverse clientele, including individuals, businesses, and schools. Some of their popular offerings include:
Business Cards: With a keen eye for design, they produce customized business cards that make a lasting impression.
Vinyl Banners: Eye-catching banners for businesses and events.
Yard Signs: Beyond yard cards, they create signs for businesses, schools, and events.
Stickers and Invitations: Custom-designed stickers and invitations for various occasions.
QR Codes: In an age where QR codes have become increasingly common, Pittsboro Print Plus can quickly generate these codes for various purposes.
Car Magnets: For businesses looking for mobile advertising solutions, the company also produces car magnets.
Special Moments with the Community
Heather Johnson cherishes her interactions with the community, and some moments stand out as particularly special. Graduations, for instance, hold a special place in her heart. Providing yard signs and graduation party invitations to families celebrating this significant milestone creates emotional and memorable connections.
Additionally, the company also handles funeral programs, offering a compassionate and gentle approach during a difficult time for families. These engagements highlight the versatility and empathy that Pittsboro Print Plus brings to the community.
Celebrating Senior Classes with Yard Cards
One of the most visible and exciting services offered by Pittsboro Print Plus is yard cards for senior classes at local schools. Last year’s yard sign parade for seniors saw Pittsboro’s main street adorned with a colorful array of celebratory signs, marking an important milestone in the lives of graduating seniors.
This year, as Seaforth High School’s inaugural senior class joins the tradition, the celebration takes on an even more significant meaning. These yard card parades not only celebrate the accomplishments of local seniors but also serve as a joyful reunion for graduates who may have grown up together.
Supporting Local Schools
Heather Johnson’s connection to the local schools runs deep. Her daughter is a cheerleader at Northwood High School, and she also serves as the Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) secretary. This involvement underscores the dedication of Pittsboro Print Plus to the community and its schools.
Heather emphasizes that her business is not a franchise but an independently-owned company, and her family plays an active role in its operation. When you support Pittsboro Print Plus, you’re not just supporting a local business; you’re supporting a community that thrives on connections and collaboration.
