All 6 Chatham County high school volleyball teams make it into state playoffs

Pittsboro, NC – All six of Chatham County’s high school volleyball teams have made it into the 2023 NCHSAA state volleyball playoffs. The NCHSAA released the final state playoffs brackets for the 2023 volleyball season on Thursday morning. The first round of the NCHSAA volleyball state playoffs will take place on Saturday at the higher seed.

Here’s a breakdown of the 1A and 2A brackets.

In 1A, Woods Charter School is the highest Chatham County seed at #5. The Wolves will host #25 River Mill Academy. The other 1A Chatham County schools are lower seeds and will travel to play their first round games. #25 Chatham Charter will play at #9 North Moore. #28 Chatham Central will play at #12 Wilson Prep.

In 2A, Seaforth high school is the highest Chatham County seed at #6. The Hawks will host #19 Barlett Yancey. The other 2A Chatham County schools are lower seeds and will travel to play their first round games. #27 Jordan-Matthews will play at #11 Marin County. #29 Northwood will play at #3 North Lenoir.

The first round of the volleyball playoffs is scheduled for Saturday, with winners advancing to the second round on Oct. 24. Third round matches will be on Oct. 26, fourth round matchups on Oct. 28, and regional championships on Oct. 31.

All rounds through the regional championships will be played at the higher seed.

The volleyball state championships will be played on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of N.C. State University in Raleigh.

Oct. 28 — Fourth round @ higher seed

Nov. 4 — State championships @ Reynolds Coliseum, Raleigh
