Pittsboro, NC – After consulting with the Pittsboro Police and Fire Department and the Pittsboro Town Emergency Management Office, the Town of Pittsboro has decided to cancel the 2023 Christmas parade due to the high risk of winds above 30 miles per hour and heavy rain. This was a difficult decision, but the safety of parade participants, spectators, and town staff is of utmost importance. Unfortunately, Pittsboro cannot reschedule this year’s parade due to logistical challenges. With this in mind, Pittsboro will refund everyone over the next week.
Santa made an appearance at the 2022 Pittsboro Christmas parade.
Since Pittsboto will not be able to have their parade in person, they would like to offer the option of a “virtual parade.” Pittsboro recognizes that participants have worked hard on their floats and decorations, and they would love to see them! Send Pittsboro pictures of your group/float as if you were going to be in the parade, and they will post the images on their social media and have a contest! Winners will receive gift baskets!
Send your submissions via email to parksandrec@pittsboronc.gov to show off your holiday spirit and for a chance to win a prize! The deadline for submissions is Monday, December 11.
