Moncure Fire Department joins FirstHealth medical first responder program

Moncure, N.C. – FirstHealth of the Carolinas proudly recognizes the Moncure Fire Department for completing additional training and testing through FirstHealth’s medical first responder program.

Moncure firefighters have long served the Chatham County community but this additional training allows them to expand skills and medical interventions to include the full North Carolina EMT scope of practice.

FirstHealth has provided EMS services in Chatham County since 1997 and also provides EMS services in Lee, Montgomery and Richmond counties.

“Having additional medical responders is always helpful, and this is especially true for the sickest of patients,” Nathaniel Miller, M.D., medical director of FirstHealth EMS, said.

“We are happy to have Moncure Fire Department align with us and look forward to this partnership with a focus on providing high-quality care in every emergency response.”
