Pittsboro calls for community input on climate action plan

By Caitlin Murphy

Pittsboro, NC – The Town of Pittsboro reminds all community members that the Climate Action Plan Survey is open now through Monday, July 7, 2025. As this plan is being written by and for our community, our community members’ feedback is essential to help shape a sustainable and resilient future for our Town.

The Climate Action Plan will serve as a roadmap for meaningful action in areas like greenspace and land use, extreme weather, energy optimization, multi-modal transportation, and solid waste. Your input will help guide priorities, strategies, and solutions that reflect Pittsboro’s unique needs and values.

In addition to the survey, we invite residents to join us at our Climate Action Plan Community Input Meetings, which will be held at the Pittsboro Community House (65 Thompson Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312). These in-person gatherings offer an opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and share your ideas with Town staff and fellow residents.

Climate Action Plan Community Meeting Dates & Times:

    Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 4 PM – 7 PM
    Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 12 PM – 3 PM

These meetings are open to everyone – whether you’re passionate about sustainability, curious about the process, or just want to stay informed. A kids’ activity table will be available, so bring the whole family!

Let’s build a Climate Action Plan that reflects the voice of Pittsboro. We encourage you to participate, spread the word, and help shape our community’s future.
