Pittsboro, NC – At approximately 6 AM Saturday morning (11/22/2025), a Pittsboro Police Department officer was involved in a motor vehicle accident on East Street while responding to an emergency call.
Preliminary investigation shows that, while the officer was driving with lights and siren activated, another driver pulled into the road in front of the patrol vehicle, leading to a collision.
While the officer was transported to the hospital for evaluation, only minor injuries resulted, and all parties are expected to fully recover. East St was closed during the investigation, but has since reopened.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol was requested to lead the investigation, and additional information will be provided when available.
