Pittsboro, NC – As the Christmas season approaches, the town of Pittsboro geared up for its annual festive celebration, the Pittsboro Holly Days. This year’s event, held on November 23, 2025, promised to be a delightful gathering that brought together families, friends, and community members for a Sunday afternoon filled with holiday cheer, shopping, and entertainment.

A Day of Festivities
The weather was perfect for the occasion, with clear skies and mild temperatures, making it an ideal day for outdoor activities. Families lined up to get a picture with Santa Claus, who made an appearance to spread holiday joy. Local schools, including Northwood High School, Pollard Middle School, George Moses Horton School, showcased musical performances, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Local Vendors and Shopping
One of the highlights of the Pittsboro Holly Days was the array of local vendors and food trucks that lined the streets. The event featured a diverse selection of shopping options, allowing attendees to support local businesses while finding unique gifts for their loved ones. From artisan crafts to delicious food, there was something for everyone.
Food trucks such as Lily Den Farm and La Contenna Contento offered a variety of culinary delights, including shrimp po’boys and pizza. In addition to food, local artisans displayed handmade goods, from custom jewelry to baked treats. The Pittsboro Business Association played a vital role in organizing the event, helping to promote local businesses and foster community spirit.
Entertainment and Activities
As the day progressed, the excitement built toward the much-anticipated Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Local bands and performers took to the stage, providing entertainment throughout the afternoon. The Margaret Pollard Middle School band performed classic Christmas songs, including “Here Comes Santa Claus” and “Christmas Proclamation”.
Families enjoyed various activities, including a holiday train ride and a bouncy house for children. The festive decorations and cheerful atmosphere created a warm environment for families to come together and celebrate the season.
The Christmas Tree Lighting
As the sun began to set, attendees gathered around the town square, eagerly awaiting the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Scheduled for 6 pm, the lighting of the tree marked the culmination of the day’s festivities. Santa Claus was set to lead the countdown, creating a moment of magic for children and adults alike. The Christmas tree lighting was followed by a drone light show.
