Chapel Hill, NC – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has released its finalized brackets for the 2022-2023 girls basketball state playoffs.
Here’s how the local Chatham County girls high school basketball teams fill in the tournament brackets.
The Northwood Lady Chargers, a #5 seed, will host the #28 seed Lee County girls in the 3A women’s basketball playoffs.
The Seaforth Lady Hawks, as the #5 seed, will host #28 Nash Central in the 2A women’s basketball playoffs.
In the 2A women’s basketball playoffs, there will be two Chatham County schools hosting first round games. #3 seeded Chatham Charter will host #30 seeded Pamlico County. Chatham Central, #9 seed, will host Washington County.
First round games in the basketball playoffs are scheduled for Tuesday at the higher seed. Second round games will be played Thursday, with third round games on Saturday.
Play will continue on February 28 with the fourth round, then regionals on March 4.
State championships will be played on March 11.
